About the Author:

Moyra Irving is a writer, storyteller, and Creative Writing teacher who lives in Central England. Her writing career began with a collection of short stories, one of which led to the creation of The Extra Guest end-hunger charity which is partnered with Oxfam and SOS Children’s Villages. She has also published two non-fiction books: ‘Take Me to the Mountain’ and ‘Fiery Love.’ However, it wasn’t until Amelie Trott came into her life that she discovered the unparalleled joy of writing for children. Moyra also loves cats, starry nights, days by the sea and, more than anything, writing stories for the child in us all.

Praise:

Amelie Trott & The Earth Watchers is a delightful middle-grade adventure story which brought to mind awe-inspiring child activist, Greta Thunberg and my childhood love of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five Series.

Amelie Trott and her brother, Tim live in Hadleigh House, a falling-down manor house in a quaint seaside town in England. They live with their grieving artist mother, ancient great-grandfather, Freddie the black cat, Lara the dog, and a ghost in the attic. But not all is as it seems, when the children and their friend Isla, uncover evil plans to throw them out of Hadleigh House forever.

Amelie Trott & The Earth Watchers is a warm-hearted, wonderfully entertaining tale about family, friendship (including intergalactic friends!), people power, and what it means to fight for world peace. Highly recommended for children everywhere.
- Nadia L. King, author of Jenna's Truth, Claire Malone Changes the World, The Lost Smile and Can the Real JR Stand Up, Please?

The narrative is upbeat and empowering and just what the world needs right now. Irving's amusing and almost comical characterisations are most endearing. I especially enjoyed the interactions of Amelie and her brother Tim and her great-grandfather Storm.

Beautifully written and immediately engaging, Amelie Trott and the Earth Watchers brims with magical moments and has all the elements of classic storytelling. Irving has penned a tale with broad appeal, enchanting youngsters and adults alike. I would like to see this highly relevant novel taken up by schools.
- Isabel Blackthorn, award-winning author of Emma's Tapestry

Delighted and honoured to have read an advance copy of this enchanting and magical story with it’s strong message for humanity that both children and adults will love.

I am not actually a reader of fiction nor a reader of childrens’ books, but I could not resist this story and I’m very glad I succumbed to the temptation. This story carries so much foresight in regards to how we need to go forward in life if we are to survive on this planet, and it has several wonderful layers of intrigue to entertain even us adults! What comes across the most to me, and stays with me, is Moyra’s warm and generous spirit coming through on every page! Thank goodness she has figured out how to create the necessary tension to bring interest to the story without using GUNS and psychotic characters! Amen to that!! Moyra’s character development is superb! They all feel like family to me now and even the “baddies” have their charm. This book gives me hope that we will FINALLY have a correct and glorious relationship with those benevolent beings who have been looking after us here on Earth (“Luga” as they call it in the story). Thank you, Moyra, for a lovely enchanting story about our true (in my opinion) relationship with our Space Brothers and the importance of saving our planet from the hands of the greedy self-serving types. The children have the power! Yes!

A joyful read from start to finish! It was a pleasure getting to know the characters, both human and otherworldly! In Amelie a new heroine is born, one that is sure to inspire hope in young readers everywhere, and the heartwarming story and underlying message couldn’t be more timely.

I’m sure there will be more mind-wandering, colourful characters and great adventure to come!

Imaginative, heartwarming and full of adventure.

This is an imaginative and heartwarming story with so many twists and turns, I never knew what to expect next. There is so much for kids to get stuck into here: an ancient house full of secrets, new friendships, a ghost in the attic, visitors from another planet, and mysteries galore. Despite the modern setting and the visitors from outer space, this book reads like one of those old-school adventure stories I used to devour when I was a kid. The message, however, is timeless: we only have one world and if we all come together in peace and without judgment, we can achieve so much.

The great thing about Amelie Trott and the Earth Watchers is that the author understands kids so well. The story is ultimately about three children saving the universe, and the author also manages to tackle smaller issues like friendships, bullying, self-esteem, and embarrassing middle names! She does all of this without talking down to her readers, and in a way that children can relate to. Amelia and her friends may be on a mission to save the world but they are still children with real-life problems to deal with too.

    A lovely read.

Well, it’s not just a book for children, but for that magical child within us all, who longs to spread our wings and fly into our truly joyful life purpose. Oh my…what a masterpiece! There is so much I love about this book. It really moved my heart. What an elegant way to introduce beneficent forces, leaning towards us to lift us into our greatness, hidden within the folds of treacherous self-doubt. The ease with which the author introduces concepts such as the continuity of life after so-called death is sublime. She dramatizes the battle between light and dark in an urgent way— not gruesomely scary—but with faith in an unseen victory. The story is filled with moral courage and poetic justice. And love—so much love. This story unveils the idea that Earth Watchers have seeded themselves within humanity, in our very midst right now, to help us perform great labors to protect our earth and humanity. The great underlying message to children is to trust their inner guidance and their innate talents and abilities—how superb! We—both children and adults—need this message now more than ever. Please treat yourself and all the young people you know with this book.

A compelling adventure, full of mystery and magic, all wrapped up with a strong and prescient message for humankind, and a generous dab of humour. If you want some wise and life-affirming reading material for yourself, your children or grandchildren – this is it!

A new heroine has stolen this reader’s heart: the plucky, irrepressible, syntax-mangling Amelie Trott. Moyra Irving has created a gem of a main character… You’ll fall in love with Amelie, her brother and their new best friend Isla from the U.S., as they careen from (mis)adventure to (mis)adventure in a never-say-die attempt to save the planet… The wit and humor are contagious. Would-be writer Amelie dreams of being a first-rate author; Moyra Irving brilliantly shows how it’s done.

Literature at its best. A most fantastic, imaginative book on par with the Harry Potter books. Really loved it; I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. I’m now keeping my eyes open for the next adventure.
