About the Author:
Rick Karlsruher is an American writer living in California. He grew up in Philadelphia drinking in the history, music, art, and stories of the city. His life has taken him around the world to see the good, the bad, the ugly, the silliness and kindness of the people across many continents.
If it has words, Rick has written it. From advertising to poetry, songs, scripts and two books, he has put it on paper or tape. His first book, A Story Almost Told, recounts his attempts to get Standoff made into a movie. This took him from Los Angeles to Johannesburg to many stops in Europe and North America. A Story Almost Told reached #1 on Smashwords and Amazon for the memoir genre. Standoff shows why he put his life at risk for his art.
Rick likes to teach by disarming people with laughter and history. Telling stories breaks down walls and brings people together. When not writing, Rick loves sports, movies, art and music.

Having worked at the NSA decades ago, Standoff makes as much sense as what some real spies did.
I felt like Petey, the Pit Boss, I laughed so hard, so many times that I thought I might have a heart attack.

I thought I’d read a few pages last night, but ended up reading the whole book in one sitting. I loved the way the author kept the tension up of what Mark was finding out but didn’t tell us. Boy when he did, it was hilarious! I’m going to have to read Standoff again, because I’m sure I’m missed some when I was laughing non-stop. This is a great book!

Great book. I was lucky enough to have an advance preview of this book and didn’t stop laughing all the way through. As soon as it became available to buy I wanted to get myself a first edition – I reckon this could be a future best-seller.

I was in military intelligence for about ten years. As crazy as Standoff is, I can’t say I didn’t see silliness like the author showed. My plan was to read the book over a few nights. I couldn’t put it down and finished the second day. For me, I can’t wait to see what Mr. Karlsruher teaches us next. I am still laughing.
